A2Z was awarded a three year contract
with Verizon, Inc. to maintain and clean their oil/water separators
in Maryland, Delaware, West Virginia and Washington, DC. An
oil/water separator is a tank that is located in the ground.
Its' purpose is to have oily water enter the tank, where
the oil is trapped within the tank, and the water is sent down
the storm drain. Periodically these separators need to be pumped
out. When called A2Z sends a three man crew consisting of a
supervisor, a tech and an operator, along with a vacuum truck
and power washer. They vac out the separator and power wash
it to make sure it's clean and in proper operating order.
A2z is under contract with Verizon to
handle their emergency spills. The spills are sometimes small,
hydraulic oil spills. They require a crew of two to four men
who arrive at the scene. They will contain the spill. A2Z’s
crew removes the oil from the spill area and dries the area
with oil-dry, a clay absorbent to remove any oil from the surface.
